Update to Rules and Regulations - Nov 2025

Nov. 27, 2025

Dear Members,

We’ve clarified the CWSA Rules regarding when players and team officials can join a game.

Key point: Any player or team official listed on the game sheet prior to the start of the game may enter at any time, regardless of when they arrive.

The rule itself hasn’t changed—this clarification simply addresses past confusion for referees, teams, and players. It also aims to help teams ensure no late-arriving player/team official is denied participation in a game.

The update also clarifies that no players or officials may be added to the game sheet after kick-off (3.2.4.1) and that half time is the final opportunity to remove names from the game sheet (3.2.5).

Updated Rules:

  • 3.2.4: A player or team official whose name appears on the game sheet prior to the start of the game may participate at any time during the game, regardless of when they arrive.
    • 3.2.4.1: Players or team officials may not be added to the game sheet after the game has started.
  • 3.2.5: Players’ names may be crossed off the game sheet at half time if they have not yet participated. No names may be removed after half time.

This clarification will help teams and officials to confidently reference the rules during games and ensure consistent, fair application on the field.

The Rules and Regulations document has been updated to reflect these changes. It can be viewed on the Guiding Documents page of our website. There is also a summary of changes document for this update:
