Kickstart pre-season tournament
Team registration is open until Sept 11 for our annual Kickstart pre-season tournament. This year we’ve made some changes to our format, based on feedback we’ve received in recent years. Games will be played on 4 separate nights over the course of a week to allow teams/players more time to recover between games.
Tournament Game Dates:
- Wednesday, October 16
- Friday, October 18
- Sunday, October 20 (games will only be scheduled on Sunday if there are any divisions of 5 teams - to avoid teams having to play 2 games in one night)
- Monday, October 21
- Wednesday, October 23
4 games guaranteed
Format: Indoor Boarded
Age Groups: Open (16+), Over 30, Over 40, Over 50
Divisions: Competitive, Intermediate and Recreational
Location: Calgary Soccer Centre (7000 48th St SE, Calgary, Alberta)
Entry Fee: $475
The deadline to register your team is Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

League Alignment
- TBD after team registration closes
The boarded alignment is based on a promotion/relegation system. Existing CWSA teams will be placed in a division based on the final standings of the Indoor 2023-24 season. New teams joining the CWSA may begin in the lowest division. Should there be a vacancy, the CWSA at its discretion may place any team, upon that team’s request, in a higher division.
The 7v7 alignment is determined by ranking existing teams based on how they placed in the Indoor 2023-24 season. New teams are inserted into the league based on their skill level. CWSA may request rosters to best determine where teams should be placed. Placement decisions for new teams are made at the discretion of the CWSA.
League Fees
Registration deposit: $1,000

Callup charts will be posted to the Callup Charts page prior to the start of the season
Programs
- Boarded
- 7v7
Players can register to one team in each program, but not to two teams in the same program. (eg: a player can register to a 7v7 team and to a Boarded team, but cannot register to two boarded teams.)
BOARDED
- No registration cap
- ~18 games*, ~1 per week
- Season from November to March
- 50 minute games
- Divisions: 1-5, Over 30, Over 40 and Over 50**
- Provincials: Yes (Divisions 1-3 & Over 30 only)
- 6v6 format played on boarded fields
* Number of games may be adjusted after completion of the final alignment, and is based on the number of teams in each division.
**Please contact the office if you are interested in registering an Over 30 team or an Over 50 team this season
Boarded Game Nights

** Please note: planned game nights are subject to change without notice and will depend on final field allocations from the city of Calgary**

**Games will only be scheduled at secondary locations if there is an Airdrie, Cochrane or Okotoks based team in your division who has requested their home games be played in their home facility.
Boardless 7v7
- SPACE IS LIMITED - Register early to secure a spot.
- First 54 team registrations are guaranteed. First come, first served. Additional registrations will be put on a waitlist and may be accommodated.
- ~16 games*, ~1 per week
- Season from late October to March
- 60 minute games
- Level of play: major, premier, and divisions 1-6 & Over 40 (final number of tiers will depend on the number of teams registered)
- Provincials: No
- 7v7 format, played on the red lined fields (same as Indoor 2023-24)
7v7 Game Nights
- Primarily Sunday afternoon/early evenings at Macron Performance Centre,
- some Thursdays late evenings (9:30pm & 10:45pm kickoffs) at CWSC
There will be no games scheduled on the following dates: (Nov 11, Dec 20-Jan 4, and Feb 14-17)

OVER 50 LEAGUE [NEW PROGRAM!]
- For players 50+
- no grandfathering. Players are eligible to play the day they turn 50.
- Scheduled on set days (tentatively: Fridays (primary), Mondays* (alternate))
- Why Fridays? --> We chose Fridays because it won't conflict with any other league game nights (meaning you can play both!). We also want to create a "Friday night social" atmosphere that players can look forward to at the end of their week.
- Scheduled at set times (tentatively at 7pm or 8pm or 9pm)
- Players don't have to give up their current team!
- players can play on an over 50 team in addition to their Boarded and/or 7v7 teams (a player can register in O50, Boarded and 7v7)
- ~1 game per week*
- 14-18 game season*
- NO SLIDE TACKLING
- 25 player rosters
- Callup players from O50 or Boarded teams (who are 50+)
- Fees to be posted in the CWSA Schedule of Fees
- Minimum # of teams required = 4
