Referee no-show process

REFEREE NO-SHOWS

Referee no-shows can occasionally occur. Teams are responsible for covering the missing roles, and affected teams will receive a credit for their share of the referee cost.

the process for handling these situations is outlined below.

11v11 Games

  • If ONE Assistant Referee (AR) is missing:
    • Each team will get the AR for one half of the game.
    • Each team will need to provide an AR for the half of the game where they do not have the assigned AR.
    • It should be noted on the game sheet that one AR was missing and that each team had the AR for half the game.
  • If TWO Assistant Referees (AR) are missing:
    • Each team will be need to provide their own AR for the entire game.
    • It should be noted on the game sheet that both ARs were missing.
  • If NO referees are present:
    • If no referees show up within ten (10) minutes of the game time, a coach or designate must referee the game. The game time shall be adjusted to reflect the delay in the start of the game. (The half time break is 5 minutes).
    • Fill out all copies of the game sheets completely with scores/stats.
    • In the absence of a main referee, both teams receive 10 fairplay points.
  • If the MAIN referee is missing, but one or two AR’s attend the game:
    • The assigned AR(s) may not be experienced and/or qualified enough to be a middle referee for your game. It will be up to the AR present to decide if they will ref the game, but it may still fall to a coach or designate to be the main game official.

8v8/7v7 Games

  • If the referee is missing:
    • If no referee shows up within ten (10) minutes of the game time, a coach or designate must referee the game. The game time shall be adjusted to reflect the delay in the start of the game. (the halftime break is 3 minutes).
    • Fill out all copies of the game sheets completely with scores/stats.
    • In the absence of a main referee, both teams receive 10 fairplay points.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE GAME SHEETS

  • Fill out both copies of the game sheets completely with scores/stats and scan and email the game sheets to derek@mycwsa.ca. The original game sheets should then be dropped off at the Calgary Soccer Centre game sheet drop box (just inside and to the right of the main entrance outer doors) or at the CWSA office during business hours.
